In 2002, a team of engineers with many years of experience in the design and construction of industrial fans and tunnel ventilation systems had the idea of creating a company specialized in tunnel ventilation.

In Talleres Zitron S.A., a renowned Spanish manufacturer of fans for mining and tunnel ventilation, based in Gijon, a partner was found who was willing to support this initiative fully and in all necessary ways. Zitron Nederland B.V. soon became a reality.

MARKET AREA & CUSTOMERS

The market area in which we profile ourselves consists of Western and Central Europe. The market area of Talleres Zitron S.A., the world’s largest supplier of underground ventilation systems, includes Southern Europe, Asia and South America. So we complement each other very well.

In the same year, Siemens Gebäudetechnik in Berlin demonstrated the professionalism of this ambitious team of specialists by awarding Zitron Nederland B.V. the contract for the design, supply, installation and commissioning of the ventilation system for Germany’s longest highway tunnel, the Rennsteigtunnel.

In the following years, customers in Belgium (Waasland Tunnel), the Netherlands (Barendrecht Tunnel), Luxembourg (Gousselerbiergtunnel), Austria (Tauern Tunnel) and Switzerland (Kirchenwald-Loppertunnel) followed Siemens Gebäudetechnik’s example. RECENT PROJECTS

Our current contracts include tunnel ventilation projects in Austria (Harpfnerwand Tunnel and Karawanken Tunnel) and Switzerland (Schwamendingen, Kerenzerberg, Sankt Gallen, Gubrist Tunnel).

Since its foundation in 2002, Zitron Nederland has equipped more than 50 European tunnels with ventilation systems.
