Project Diabolo

The Diabolo-project by the belgium railway organisation Infrabel, is an new rail connection from the national airport of Brussels towards the city of Brussels in one direction and the city of Antwerp in the other. The tunnel constist of 2 drilled tubes from the existing underground train station and ends in the median strip of the motorway E19. Here the railway is connected to line 25N that leads to Brussels and Antwerp.

Ventilation method:

The ventilation system of this project consists of 3 parts:
1. Smoke extraction from the station
2. Push-pull ventilation in the drilled tubes
3. Longitudinal ventilation in the access ramps

Scope of supply:
|
3 x extract fans, suitable for operation at 400°C during 120 minutes and an installed motor power of 250kW. Extraction ducts with fire dampers.
8 × 100% reversible fans with an installed motor power of 160kW. Saccardo nozzles with dampers, pressure relief dampers, transition pieces, partition walls and silencers.
6 × 100% reversible jet fans with a thrust of 730N and an installed motor power of 30kW
Saccardo injectors including dampers.
